Marshfield Murder-Suicide Investigation: A domestic violence investigation is underway in Marshfield, Wisconsin, after a shooting left one man dead and a woman critically injured in what authorities believe was an isolated incident. According to the Marshfield Police Department, officers and Marshfield Fire & Rescue responded at approximately 6:30 a.m. on July 6, 2026, after receiving reports of a vehicle that had left the roadway in the 2000 block of South Roddis Avenue. When first responders arrived, they found a 32-year-old Marshfield woman in the driver’s seat suffering from a gunshot wound. She was transported to Marshfield Medical Center, where she remains in critical condition. A 34-year-old man from Owen, Wisconsin, who was found in the passenger seat with a gunshot wound, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators said preliminary evidence indicates the shooting stemmed from a domestic violence incident and that there is no ongoing threat to the public. Authorities have not released the identities of those involved or announced any arrests, and no official determination has been made regarding the manner of the man’s death.
Police continue to process evidence and interview witnesses as they work to determine exactly what happened.
